4 Night Viroga Yoga Retreat Holiday: Ubud Bali

Viroga Yoga Retreat Holidays are perfect for those who want to escape to a beautiful location, develop their yoga practice, and have a holiday too. Come by yourself and create new friendships or bring your friend or family member and create new memories. Solo, Double or Twin options are available.

Your Hosts:

Viroga Yoga Retreat Holidays are led by Renee Jones the Principal Yoga Instructor and the Founder of VIROGA. Ruben Jones (Renee’s husband) will also be available during the retreat to assist with all non-yoga activities as required.

Location:

Bali is an island in Indonesia commonly referred to as “The island of the Gods”. Ubud is located in the hills of Bali about 1 hour drive from Denpasar (Ngurah Rai) International Airport. Ubud is a bustling cosmopolitan town filled with boutiques, spas and cafes surrounded by temples, small farms and forest. It is the filled with the art, culture, tradition and spirit of the Balinese people. It is also one of the most popular yoga destinations in the world.

Accommodation:

Ananda Cottages is a peaceful 3 star retreat center owned and run by a local family. It located just outside the busy town center of Ubud (20 minutes’ walk / $5 taxi ride) and is surrounded by rice paddies creating a serene setting for yoga, meditation and relaxation. The rooms at Ananda’s echo tropical Balinese style with rustic wooden features. All rooms have their own simple bathroom with bathtub, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, bar-fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and balcony. There are no TVs and limited WiFi which makes it the perfect place for a technology-detox. Standard rooms are on the ground floor. Superior rooms are located on upper floor. There are 2  pools and 2 yoga halls onsite. Spa bookings, taxis and tours are all easily available through reception. There is also a certified money changer across the street.

Meals:

The retreat package includes a Tropical Breakfasts Daily at Ananda’s open-air Restaurant and a Welcome dinner with cultural show at the Café Lotus. All other meals are at own cost giving you the freedom to explore the plethora of amazing restaurants and cafes in and around the Ubud area. If you wish to stay onsite, Ananda’s restaurant is open throughout the day (room service is also available).

Yoga:

Morning & Evening Yoga Sessions will be held onsite in Ananda’s traditional open-air Bale (hut) set amongst the rice paddies. Everyone is welcome, from the 1st time beginner to the experienced practitioner. All sessions are led by Renee Jones. Renee has been teaching yoga fulltime for over 13 years and regularly runs day retreats, week-end retreats and yoga holidays. Renee applies a sensitive, sensible yet light-hearted approach to her yoga classes. She teaches primarily in a Hatha or Vinyasa style and employs a range of flowing, structural and restorative methods to create an accessible and enjoyable yoga experience that promotes health, harmony and happiness of body, mind and spirit.

Have a  friend/spouse who wants to come but is not keen to do all the yoga?
No Problem! All yoga sessions are optional.

Activities:

Each day you will have free time to explore many interesting things in and around Ubud. Pamper yourself with massage and spa treatments; Go shopping at the Ubud Markets or many boutiques; Visit the Art Museums (Blanco, Neka, ARMA, Puri Lukisan) and galleries; Take a cooking class or visit the plantations; Explore the Monkey Forest; Tour the the rice terraces (Tegallalang), Batur Lookout (Kintamani), the holy springs (Tirta Empul) and many beautiful temples; Trek the rice fields or nearby Campuan Ridge; Try river rafting or a cycling tour; Learn Balinese dancing, music (gamelan) and offerings; Watch cultural shows such as the Barong and Kecack dance. Do it all…or just relax on your deck. Activities are at own cost.

Schedule:

The retreat begins with an introductory session on the first day and concludes after breakfast on last day. Below is a tentative schedule of what to expect in a day during the Viroga Yoga Retreat Holiday: Bali. Please note: all activities are completely optional and are simply for your enjoyment.

Rates:

Solo: $1175 total (to be confirmed)

Double / Twin: $995 per person (to be confirmed)

Included:

  • Four nights of accommodation immersed in the rice paddies at the beautiful Ananda Cottages, Ubud
  • Transfers to / from Airport (or selected Hotel)
  • One Welcome dinner with cultural performance at the Lotus Cafe
  • Tropical Breakfast daily at Ananda’s Restaurant
  • Eight Yoga Sessions with Renee Jones from Viroga

Not Included:

  • Flights to / from Bali (Virgin & Jetstar often have cheap direct flights)
  • Extra Accommodation pre or post retreat (Why not extend your trip and check out the Bali beach destinations)
  • Visas (as required)
  • Travel and medical Insurance (compulsory)
  • Taxis, additional meals, activities, products, services and all tipping.

Please Note: A non- refundable deposit of $500 is due at the time of registration to secure your place. The final balance is due by 28 days before the Retreat. All payments are by direct deposit. Prices are in AUD and are subject to change. Please confirm price at time of booking.
